Welcome to the Biblical Turkey Tour following the way of pilgrimage of St Paul who spread the religion of Christianity in Anatolia despite the strong restrictions of the Roman Empire. We will assign one of our best tour guides for your Biblical tour as knowledge and experience are the key elements of this Biblical tour.
Day 1 – Istanbul – Izmir – Pergamon
You will be picked up from your Istanbul hotel and transferred to the airport to take a flight to Izmir where you meet with your guide and start your trip.
In ancient times known as Smyrna, visiting the outside of St Polykarp Church & the ruins of the Agora. Then depart to Bergama and ruins of Pergamon, previously a renowned cultural and political center used by the Romans as an administrative center for the province of Asia. Here visit the ruins of the Acropolis and the Asclepion with its theatre. Overnight stay in Bergama.
Day 2 – Thyatira – Sardis – Philadelphia
Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast and depart for a tour to visit the ruins of Thyatira, which was founded by the Lydian’s. Then to magnificent Sardis, which was the wealthy capital of the Lydian Empire. En route to Pamukkale also stop to visit the church in Philadelphia, which was important for the spreading of, thought patterns and activities of the Hellenistic civilization and Christian faith. Overnight stay in Pamukkale
Day 3 – Pamukkale – Hierapolis – Laodicea – Kusadasi
Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast and depart for a tour to visit the natural formation of the calcium travertines (Cotton Cliffs) and ruins of Hierapolis in Pamukkale. Then depart to visit the ruins of Laodicea which are mentioned in Revelations as the “City of Compromise” as well as the barely excavate site of Colossae. End of the day with arrival to the hotel in Kusadasi, overnight stay in Kusadasi.
Day 4 – Kusadasi – Ephesus – Istanbul
Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast and depart for a tour to visit the Ancient City of Ephesus which represents many different facets of Ancient Greek and Roman culture. The day will also include a visit to the Basilica of St John where he is believed to be buried, the House of Virgin Mary where she is said to have spent the last of her days as well as the remains of Artemis Temple. After our Biblical Turkey tour, you will be transferred to Izmir Airport for a flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival pick up from the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 5 – Istanbul
By considering your international flight time we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Istanbul Airport for your international flight.
