Turkey Eases COVID Restrictions By June

Turkey Eases COVID Restrictions By Junethe lockdown on the weekends is now only applied on Sundays, however, the lockdown between 10 pm and 5 am still exists every day. The major change was the one related to the opening of the restaurants and cafes, which were only allowed to offer takeouts and deliveries during Ramadan.

Now, starting from June the eateries, cafes, bistros, etc. are available for seated service. They remain open between 7 am and 9 pm and their capacity are down to half, to maximize the distance between the clients.

Despite the restaurants and cafes, bars and nightclubs remain close by the order which let down the hospitality industry as well as the tourists as they will not be able to have fun even in the summer resorts. Only in the hotels but not in interiors, with watching the social distancing and taking necessary cautions tourists can enjoy their summer holidays in Turkey. All the open-air museums and tourist attractions throughout Turkey are open and there is no problem regarding transportation inside Turkey now.

COVID Restrictions For Tourist In Istanbul

Istanbul is the most popular destination in Turkey that attracts many tourists from all over the World and is also a transition point for travelers.

That is maybe the reason that many people wonder about the situation going on in Istanbul. Even if there is a lockdown for the locals, the tourists stay exempt as mostly all of the tourist attractions remain open.

There are minor issues regarding the measures applied for locals that also affect the visitors. For example, the Spice Bazaar, which used to be open every day, now is closed during the lockdown on Sundays. Bosphorus tours and dinner cruises are not operating on the days of curfew as well, dinner cruises have changed their schedule according to the starting time of curfew on the weekdays. Now they run on the hours between 6 and 9 pm.

Even the private yachts are not allowed to sail on Sundays, but still, there are a few alternatives such as the passenger boats to experience the beauty of Bosphorus on the days of lockdown. The other thing that bothers the visitors is the decision related to the cisterns.

Underground cisterns like Basilica Cistern and Serefiye Cistern are kept close because of the unique ambiance that could help the virus spread more than any other environment.

The last thing to pay attention to is the mandatory tracking code(HES code) that is also necessary for the tourists to travel inner or intercity. They have to obtain a HES code by their passports, once they get a travel card for public transportation they also have to match the card(Istanbulkart) with their HES codes.
